Stubborn stains on tiles: Tips
If we have a tiled surface in the kitchen and at the stove’s height, there is a real risk of periodically finding hostile stains that are difficult to remove. It is important to underline that there are several remedies based on easily available products at home.
In this regard, here is a guide, with some tips on how to remove stubborn stains from tiles.
Use vinegar and baking soda.
If the stains are quite evident and difficult to remove or release an unsightly halo, it is advisable to use a mix of vinegar and bicarbonate to optimize the result. The first serves to dissolve the grease particles that have generated the halo, while the bicarbonate promotes the cleaning action by acting with light and effective abrasive force.
Use talcum powder
A tiled surface with a classic pure white color in the presence of stains and halos is particularly unsightly. To remedy this, it is advisable to use talcum powder, when dry on a sponge and circular movements, to eliminate both problems without damaging the ceramic of which the tiles are made. It performs a light but effective abrasive action.
Apply pumice to the stain
If the stains on the tiles are particularly resistant, and the products mentioned so far have not solved the problem, we can intervene with an abrasive substance made up of much thicker granules. Specifically, it involves sprinkling pumice on a sponge and acting on the stain until it is completely dissolved. A final rinse is then used to verify the success of the operation.
Use hydrogen peroxide
It often happens that in addition to stains, incrustations are formed on the tiles due to the excessive fat generated by the oil during frying. To optimize the result and make the tiled surface clean and shiny again, we can use hydrogen peroxide by dabbing it on the affected part. Once this is done, just let it act for a few minutes, after which we will notice with great satisfaction the vertical overflow of the dissolved fat.
Sprinkle ammonia on the stain
Another very effective product for removing hostile stains on tiles and halos is ammonia. Sprinkling this substance on the affected part with a sponge, the tiles will become clean and free of halos and stains after a few minutes.
