How to wash a short pile rug

To furnish a house very often, it is necessary to insert rugs to give the environment warmth. The rugs can be more or less valuable and can also be of various colors, of various materials, and different qualities. It can often happen that due to some distractions, the carpets can be damaged and completely stained.

Before you panic and worry unnecessarily, know that it is possible to perfectly wash the surface of each carpet, removing all traces of dirt. But how do you wash a short pile rug?

Needed: Marseille soap, bicarbonate, warm water, soft cloth.

Short pile rugs can be precious. Some rugs derive from the processing of expert hands, and that comes directly from the east. Unfortunately, short pile rugs can get stained due to several factors. To not completely ruin a carpet, it is necessary to intervene instantly on the stain or dirt.

There are many chemical products suitable for washing the carpet, but natural remedies can eliminate all traces of dirt from the carpets. First, moisten the carpet with warm water and let the water absorb.

Once the carpet has perfectly absorbed the water, you will need to add a couple of teaspoons of baking soda and rub the stained part with a cotton cloth or with a very soft sponge not to ruin the carpet’s texture.

If the carpet is cleaned with an excessively hard brush, it can be completely damaged, so it is necessary to use a very soft sponge. Once the stained part has been rubbed, proceed with rinsing, always using warm water. Baking soda can remove traces of dirt and surface stains from the carpet.

You can also use a few drops of lemon mixed with a few drops of Marseille soap for cleaning stains for less valuable carpets. Create a homogeneous mixture and always rub it with a very delicate cloth on the carpet’s stain.

The short pile carpet tends to absorb all liquids often, but using natural and delicate materials makes it possible to remove the dirt. Avoid using chemicals such as degreasers, bleaches of various types of soaps that are not indicated and often aggressive for carpets. With these tips, you have no problem.

Note: Do not use chemicals.
