The carpets are an excellent piece of furniture. They embellish any environment with elegance and note color and warmth, both in the bedrooms and bedrooms. The carpets need ordinary cleaning with the daily aid of the vacuum cleaner.
They will also need periodic washing with water, vinegar, soap, and specific detergent foams for dry cleaning. It may happen that accidentally, some paint is spilled on the carpet, causing stains. The best thing would be to remove them promptly, but this may not be possible for several reasons.
In any case, as soon as we check for the presence of paint stains on the carpet, we will remove them. So let’s see together how to remove dried paint from home rugs.
When the paint stain is fresh, it will be necessary to blot it with absorbent paper several times, then wipe the carpet fabric with an acetone-soaked pad, but avoid rubbing.
Finally, use mild soap with a little water, brush, and rinse with a cloth soaked in water and vinegar. But if the paint has dried and is now dry, we will have to resort to other methods. But, first, we will have to remove the bulk of the paint through mechanical methods.
Let’s get both coarse and fine-grained sandpaper and practicing light rotating movements. Next, apply a little pressure to detach the pieces of paint from the carpet. After removing most of the paint, continue with the same operations, using fine-grained sandpaper, then brush vigorously.
After carrying out these two operations, for a few minutes, the stain or the stains will have almost disappeared but, in all probability, some residue and a slight halo may persist, so we will have to implement other home remedies and arm ourselves with a good dose. of patience.
We will take acetone for the nails and, with a small amount, we will wet a cotton swab, again without rubbing, we will dab the paint residues which, thanks to the solvent action of the product, will dissolve quickly (pay attention to the color of the carpet, in some cases may be affected).
Once this is done, we will prepare a detergent based on warm water, vinegar (half a glass for each liter of water), and a few tablespoons of neutral soap for wool (mild soap).
We will use an old small towel and, after having soaked it well in the basin, we will rub it on the paint stain and then on the whole carpet, carrying out a complete wash that will avoid leaving streaks. After deleting the stain and washing the carpet, it is advisable to leave it to dry in the open air, without stepping on it.
