How to peel the oven trays

Organizing a nice dinner that makes our diners happy is always a demanding job, but in the end, the satisfaction of having our guests happy is priceless. Dinner ends, and the time has come to wash the mountain of dirty dishes. We know that glasses, plates, and cutlery are washed in a flash, but the tragedy begins when we get to the trays.

Here we have to arm ourselves with elbow grease to scrape and degrease pans and pans full of oil or in which remains of food have stuck. In this phase, I will show you some ways to peel the oven trays, save time, and save you a lot of effort.

Needed: Steel wool sponge, degreaser, dish soap, lemon, wine vinegar, baking soda.

Use lemon

The first method I will show you takes advantage of the degreasing and peeling power of lemon and dish soap. We proceed first by placing the pan, just emptied of the contents, under lukewarm water in this way; we will not damage it with the thermal shock of cold water.

We add hot water, half a squeezed lemon (both the juice and the lemon itself), and dish soap to the pan. Let everything work for at least an hour, after which we proceed by washing the pan. To help us clean the pan, we use a steel wool sponge. If we have Teflon trays, use the classic sponge.

Use the degreaser

Another very effective method involves the use of a degreaser. Yes, this type of product used for cleaning the house, and hobs are perfect for scouring the trays. As soon as the pan is cold, let’s spray abundant degreaser inside, preferably with lemon. Let the degreaser work for at least 30 minutes.

After this time, we proceed to wash the pan. Using a sponge and dish soap, we remove the pan’s now peeling layer and do the first wash. To ensure that the pan is well degreased, proceed with a second wash using additional dish soap and rinsing under plenty of hot water.

Use vinegar

The last trick I show you to scrape the remains burnt from a pan is to use vinegar and baking soda. Pour the wine vinegar into the pan so that it completely covers the bottom. Now add the baking soda spreading it evenly. The reaction between the two will create a foam that will be corrosive to the dirt but will not damage the pan.

Let the mixture work in the pan for at least an hour. After this time, we eliminate the bottom that will have formed in the pan with kitchen paper and proceed to the pan’s normal washing with soap and hot water.

Note: Always remember to soak the inside of the pan immediately with hot water.
