Moisten the stained areas

Polypropylene is a modern material created with synthetic fibers that are often compared to wool. Polypropylene is usually a very dirt-resistant material but can still get stained. Pets and children can sometimes stain and soil carpets with this material, and for a matter of hygiene, it is always advisable to proceed with proper cleaning.

If you have stained the carpet with liquids such as wine, sugary drinks, or food, the first thing to do to remedy the stain is to moisten the entire carpet using a micro-fiber cloth soaked in water. Wet the stained area abundantly and let the water penetrate well.

Scrape the encrusted food

Once the water has moistened the area to be cleaned, you will need to use a water-based solution and dish soap to spray on the affected area. Rub the soaked microfiber cloth on the stained area and add a little bit of this mixture.

If you have stained your carpet with solid food and forgot to clean it right away, you will certainly need to remove the food encrustations. With a soft brush usually used for cleaning leather shoes, brush the stained area dry without adding water. When the food deposits come off the carpet fabric, you can proceed with the addition of water and dish soap.

Rinse and spread the carpet

Finally, once you have eliminated the encrustations or any food stains on the surface of the carpet, you will have to proceed again with the addition of plenty of water. Pour some water on the soapy area and get rid of the dirt and soap mixture residue. Once all traces of dirt have been removed, must dry the carpet thoroughly.

Synthetic fibers such as polypropylene have the ability to dry quickly. Just spread the carpet on the railing of your balcony or terrace and let the carpet dry for a couple of hours. Once dry, your carpet will be as clean and flawless as before.

Note: Never use aggressive products on carpets. Try to be timely with cleaning a stain. Gently scrape off food encrustations without damaging the carpet. Use only dish soap to remove stains.
