How to clean folding mosquito nets

With the arrival of summer, it is important to repair your homes from insects’ intrusion through the use of special classic, pleated, or folding mosquito nets. Mosquito nets are essential to protect your home, especially from mosquitoes or summer flies, which very often manage to be annoying and intrusive.

The folding mosquito nets are the most difficult to clean, and for this reason, we will try to show you how to clean the mosquito nets of this type, using straightforward tricks to perform at home.

Needed: Compressed air, Brush, Vacuum cleaner, Brush, Wet rag, Detergent.

Use compressed air

First of all, to remove the dirt present between all the folding insect screen slots, it is necessary to use compressed air. You can use a simple spray to spray on all the mosquito net crevices, remove excess dust, and be able to clean every corner of the mosquito net quickly more easily.

It is important always to use gloves when doing this and protect your eyes with goggles to protect yourself from any traces of dust that can jump out of the mosquito net when you spray the compressed air.

Pass a brush

The second step necessary to clean the folding mosquito net well is to pass a large brush with very soft bristles on each strip of your mosquito net. The brush will further eliminate the traces of dust accumulated in the small holes of the mosquito net. You will have to use a classic brush that is usually used to paint walls or furniture.

The bristles of the brush must be very soft to avoid damaging your mosquito net or even to avoid piercing it. If the mosquito net is very dirty, you can also use a vacuum cleaner to suck up all the dust stuck on the various holes in the mosquito net.

Wash the net

Finally, you will have to wash the folding mosquito net. Dampen a very soft microfibre cloth inside a basin full of warm water and a few detergent drops. Wipe the cloth with extreme delicacy on the mosquito net and on the edges of its frame to remove any traces of dirt present, exerting a very light pressure and being careful not to pierce it. With these steps, your folding insect screen will become clean again.

Note: Always use gloves to clean this type of mosquito net.
