These can be soft or rigid, synthetic, or natural. It all depends on the type of fabric or material to be cleaned. In this guide, you will learn how to clean clothes brushes.

Needed: White vinegar, baking soda, toothpaste, ammonia, lemon.

Detergent

The brushes for cleaning wool clothes come with soft or natural fiber bristles. These brushes must be cleaned first by removing the lint and hair present between the interstices; then, it is necessary to place the brushes in a detergent solution or even in a drop of fabric softener and leave them for a maximum of 15 minutes n soaking. Rinse the brushes with cold water and dry them in the sun or with a hairdryer with a cold air jet.

Vinegar

As for the brushes used to clean clothes made of synthetic fibers, such as nylon, it is possible to use alkaline or slightly acid solution. Put the brushes in a water and vinegar solution or water and lemon, let the product act for about 10 minutes, rinse in cold running water, and let it dry in direct sunlight or with artificial air.

Ammonia

For more thorough cleaning, use a solution composed of ammonia and water, fill a basin with half a liter of water and 5 measuring spoons of ammonia, leave the brushes to soak, and remove them after about 20 minutes. Rinse them under cold water and let them dry in the sun.

Bicarbonate

If the brushes are quite dirty, they can be cleaned with a solution based on water and bicarbonate: rub the solution on the bristles, leave the brush to soak in cold water, and rinse under hot or lukewarm running water.

In case you do not have baking soda, you can use a paste made up of toothpaste and water. In a water glass, melt some toothpaste, create a thick paste, apply it on the bristles, wait for the paste to dry, and rinse it under cold water.

Disinfectant

If you want to disinfect the brushes, buy a special detergent to disinfect in common supermarkets, fill a basin with water, add a spout of detergent and let it act on the brushes. Finally, rinse the brushes under running water.
