How to clean a Wool Jacket

Warm and heavy clothing are the real stars of the cold season. As with any suit, it can happen to stain or soil even the woolen garments that are undoubtedly more delicate than the normal garments that we usually wash.

The first step is to read the label on your garment carefully. Each wool jacket has its own composition that may or may not allow dry cleaning or water cleaning. In the first case, you must pay close attention to the day you choose to wash the garment since it is essential to have a beautiful sunny day available to carry out the entire procedure.

Subsequently, can prepare a solution consisting of 4 liters of cold water and 1/2 liter of ammonia. You can hang the jacket on a hanger and start brushing it very gently. After completing the operation in each part, it must be spread out in a warm area but hidden from the sun to allow it to dry quickly. It takes about two days to be able to reuse it perfectly dry.

If you can clean your jacket with water, you can decide whether to wash it by hand or in the washing machine. In the latter case, it is good to pay attention to the setting you select as there are specific ” hand ” or wool garments.

You can fill a large basin with cold water and half a glass of liquid soap by opting for the first option, leaving everything to soak for about 10 minutes. After this time, you can decide to rub the most problematic area, or you can easily rinse it, putting it to dry as in the case considered in the first step.

If the wool jacket is excessively wet, it is advisable to pat it with a towel to remove all excess water. When you begin to notice that it no longer drips excessively, then, in that case, you can spread it out in a dry place.

If it has been spread out properly, there will be no need to iron it and easily hang it up in the closet. To your liking, you can insert lavender bags inside to keep the environment cool and to find the garment ready for the following year.
