How to deal with an infestation of mice
If you have these unwelcome in the cellar rats or worse at home, before calling an exterminator to try these practical tips, be careful, especially if there are children in the house.
If you’ve seen some examples of mice, but there is a real invasion, then you can try yourself to remove these unwelcome guests. First, you have to isolate yourself. You do not let other mice from entering your house while you are committed to get rid of those already present.
Isolated: Look around and identify potential entry points. Usually, the mice are introduced through small holes in correspondence with the water pipes or gas mains. Delete these small cracks in the retinas of employing hard steel, such as those you use in the kitchen.
Protect the food: Now, make a selection of foods. Throw away all those contaminated and set aside healthy foods. Close them in airtight containers, do not use cardboard boxes or plastic bags because rodents chew on everything. Put in the fridge or freezer. There should be no food available for mice.
Discard all waste: What did you do for food have to do it for your waste. Put them always in a sealed container. Mice can enter your trash at night, better if you bring out the kitchen trash can, or close it with a hardcover.
After removing cartons, newspapers, plastic bags, and various waste, you’ll start the slaughter! If there are children in the house entrusted to traditional traps, otherwise not rule out the idea of using rat poison.
Mice traps: Some traps are constituted by small cages inside of which must be put the bait. If the latch allows, instead of putting a classic piece of cheese, which can be stolen without capturing the mouse, put the peanut butter.
Use peanut butter also for glue traps! Purchase of special glue, grab a plate, and cover it with glue to the sheet’s center will be the bait (peanut butter). When the rat eats, the bait will remain stuck and so be trapped.
Where to put the traps: Leave traps in areas where the rats could pass. Some classic examples are: behind the refrigerator, under the kitchen sink, behind the bench in the cellar.
The rat poison: If there are no children and other pets in the house as well using rat poison! Choose a poison that, in addition to killing the rat it dehydrates. In this way, the mouse runs away from home to find water, and it will die out in the garden.
Ponder well the choice of poison, whether with the traps you can be sure of having physically eliminated the rodent, not with poison, and you’re sure you have the terrible surprise of having a carcass rotting in the house.
Where to buy traps and poisons. If you do not know who to turn went from a retailer of agricultural / gardening products or animal feed, the hardware may often have these titles.
