How to eliminate condensation on windows

Very often, it happens both in summer and in winter to find a lot of condensations both on the glass and on the window sill, and the phenomenon can be explained by the temperature difference between the internal and external environment since air conditioners and stoves are used.

There are several methods to eliminate condensation on the windows, so in the following steps, it is explained how to optimize the result in the best way.

Double glazing

First of all, it is important to know that the excessive temperature difference between the internal and external environment generates condensation; it is advisable to reduce or increase it, respectively, on-air conditioners and radiators in the order of about five degrees.

The window’s very glass plays a significant role; if thin, it tends to generate it, so in the case of opting for new windows, it is better always to choose those with double glazing that does not present any problem.

Air chink

There are effortless methods to intervene, such as leaving a small crack of air then opening the window just a little. Still, it is also important to use specific paints applied to the entire perimeter of the window compartment (especially if the walls are thin) and avoid this inconvenience.

Furthermore, they are also useful from an aesthetic point of view since they tend to eliminate the classic blackish mold formed after the condensation itself. If there is a radiator under the window compartment, to avoid that the heat given off can generate condensation, a bowl with water must be added to dampen the effect.

To clean misted glass, it is recommended to use microfibre cloths since being synthetic, they generate a minimum of heat, which takes away the condensation immediately, leaving the glass drier.

Air circle

If, on the other hand, condensation forms on the kitchen and bathroom windows, you must immediately ventilate the room after using the oven and shower, respectively. Finally, the advice to remove it from the window panes is to turn on a dehumidifier, which is perhaps used in the winter to dry the laundry.

It is also important to emphasize that if there is an air conditioner in the house, let’s talk about summer condensation. It is better to use it with the ” dry ” function, which precisely indicates that it also performs an effective action as a dehumidifier in addition to cooling the environment.
