How to clean a Venetian style wardrobe

On the market, Venetian style wardrobes are made with different materials. They are available in various formats and designers: in natural solid wood, with wooden panels, with vinyl inserts, and in decorated wood, with two doors, and so on.

Whatever the type of decoration, the wardrobe still needs careful cleaning. So here’s how to clean a Venetian-style wardrobe.

Needed: White vinegar, specific detergent for wood, hot water, sodium bicarbonate, sponge, synthetic cloth, cotton cloth.

If you have a commercial cleaner on hand, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s directions and read the warnings. In case you want to save money, you can use simple DIY home cleaning products, which in addition to being natural, do not contain harmful fumes, are not toxic, and can be disposed of safely.

If the Venetian-style wardrobe is excessively dirty, prepare an ecological solution: mix a teaspoon of baking soda with a small amount of liquid soap, add four cups of hot water and combine these ingredients in a spray bottle.

Mix thoroughly. Pass the solution with a sponge on both doors of the wardrobe. Wait about twenty minutes, so that it acts perfectly and rinse it with hot water.

Another method of cleaning a Venetian-style wardrobe is to mix a solution consisting of a teaspoon of liquid detergent with six spoons of white vinegar, add four cups of hot water and mix all the ingredients into a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the surface of the cabinet and use a chamois cloth to extend it.

This type of solution does not require rinsing. If the wardrobe has metal doors, we recommend making a detergent consisting of 1/2 cup of white vinegar mixed with two tablespoons of salt. Dab the preparation with a sponge and let it rest for about fifteen minutes. This type of solution will remove all traces of dirt and any fogging.

Finally, remember to use a universal cleaner to clean the cabinet handles. Clean them well to remove dirt and then dry them. If the cabinet has brass finishes, use a homemade or commercial cleaner specific for this type of metal. If the wardrobe has inserts inside the glass doors, use a specific glass cleaner—both inside and outside.
