How to clean the inside of a toaster

A toaster is a small appliance capable of toasting bread in a truly perfect way. You will have used the toaster to make cheese or ham toast or create crunchy bruschetta.

When baking bread inside the toaster, it is possible to create dirt inside the appliance, formed not only by breadcrumbs or crumbs of all kinds but also by the seasoning that can often run from the various cheese toasts that you will cook at the interior of the toaster.

It is important to avoid bad smells and hygiene reasons to perfectly clean the inside of a toaster, and in this guide, we will explain how to do it.

Needed: Toothbrush, degasser, dish soap, water, bowl, etc.

The toaster is one of the most difficult appliances to clean because of its small internal spaces, where it is difficult to reach directly with your hands.

Cleaning the entire internal part of the toaster and the grids used to enclose and hold the bread during toasting is quite difficult, especially when various pieces of melted cheese begin to incrust over the entire surface of the appliance.

To perfectly clean the toaster, you must necessarily disconnect it from the power and turn off each ignition switch to avoid taking a shock.

Once you have unplugged each button connected to the electricity, you will have to take a small toothbrush and wet it with a little water. Add two splashes of degreaser and very little dishwashing liquid over the brush.

Remove the internal grills by detaching the two tongs from the toaster and immerse them in a basin full of water, together with the crumb tray, which usually has a straightforward lever to extract.

Now proceed with the internal cleaning of the toaster, inserting the brush gently without scratching the toaster. Use a toothbrush to rub the dirtiest and most encrusted parts of the toaster with firm movements.

With another clean brush soaked in water, you will now have to remove all the dirty traces inside the toaster and let it dry in the open air. Rub with a cloth for the dishes, both the toaster racks and the crumb tray previously immersed in a basin full of water. Dry everything with a clean tea towel and put the cleaned pieces back into the toaster.

Note: Never clean the toaster while it is attached to the power.
