How to Clean the Shower and Bathtub
It’s always nice to see your home neat and tidy, but cleaning always takes a good deal of effort – the bathroom is perhaps one of the most challenging areas to clean.
The floor, sink, and bathroom fixtures and the shower and tub must always be clean and sanitized: bacteria tend to lurk easily in every tiny corner, and it is necessary to avoid their proliferation as much as possible. So let’s start this guide on how to clean the shower and bathtub.
First of all, clean the taps and all the various chromed parts: wash them first with soapy water, rinse and dry them, then; wet some pieces of cloth with white vinegar (also use it for difficult places by putting a little on a toothbrush and carefully rubbing the area to be cleaned) place the pieces of cloth on the taps and leave them there overnight. The next day remove them and polish everything with a soft rag: you will notice a perfect cleaning and a wonderful shine.
Now move on to the tub and shower pipes, taking care to eliminate any residual dirt that inevitably goes to settle in the pipes: hair, filaments, etc. (this operation can be safely carried out even once a month): take a funnel and pour into a bottle a mixture made with half a bowl of coarse salt, half of the baking soda and a glass of carbonated drink; put the finger on the glass opening and shake the liquid well, then pour it into the drain hole: the pipes will thus get rid of dirt, and will eliminate any bad smells.
White vinegar is also very suitable for eliminating the opaque veil left by the limestone on the glass walls or synthetic material of the shower, which are often also inserted on the tub, replacing them with the classic nylon curtain: just put two cups in half a cup of water and then rub the surfaces with a rough cloth.
Can clean the shower tray and the inside of the tub very well by preparing the following mixture: put a spoonful of shower gel and a teaspoon of baking soda in a bowl; mix well to obtain a kind of soft cream, then spread it on a sponge and clean the ceramic, then rinse it thoroughly. With these remedies, your bathroom will always be neat and shiny with little expense.
